Following up on the request at the AGM, I've been looking into insurance for the projector and screen.
The projector lives in my home office but my home contents insurers don't want to know because it doesn't belong to me. (The conversation exposed several weaknesses in LV's communications skills so I might well change supplier this Summer)
I've talked to a couple of brokers. They say that it's not practicable to insure these items in their own right. Instead, they suggest an overall club liability insurance onto which the equipment could be tacked. That sounded OK until I heard the rough price of £300 to £500 per year. I thanked them but said 'no thanks'.
I've talked it over with John Beard and we've decided not to pursue this any further.
