For the past several weeks, our Treasurer John Beard has been running a project to acquire funds for a modern wide screen projector and a motorised wall mounted 3m wide screen to go with it.
He was successful!

Sussex Community Foundation, a local charity, has granted us around £3000 to fully fund their purchase. We've already received the money and the projector was used last night. The screen should be installed within a few weeks.

John well deserves our hearty congratulations and thanks Smiley.

The projector is about 4 times as bright as the old one and we were comfortably able to use it with the lights on. It has a myriad other capabilities too, such as image zoom in order to show detail and picture in picture. We're still exploring. Benq SP831 details

That's excellent news.. we'll done John.

I was hoping to make the meeting but with being stuck in the A27M27 fuss Tuesday night and not getting home until 2am after 7.5hrs of 1st gear driving and a stranded car I was going nowhere.

See you all soon.

Three cheers from me too  Grin

I witnessed the projector and it works with the lights on - woohoo, no more presentations in the dark (tho' some may say that the presenters look better that way)

Many thanks John and I hope you got away in time ........

The screen was installed yesterday afternoon. I'm going to need to take a new photo for the website's front page  Grin.

The new projector failed last night. Lucky that I'd decided not to put my old one on eBay Smiley.

Benq have been pretty good so far. When John contacted them this morning they said that they'd arrange for a courier to pick it up under warranty and that they'd lend us another in the interim Smiley.

BenQ seem to suffer from a left hand and right hand problem and the collection has been delayed
However they assure me that this will take place tomorrow (Thursday)
Will keep you posted
